Pilates is not just an exercise... it is a series of very precise, controlled movements that fully engage the body and mind. These movements may be performed on an apparatus, such as the Reformer or Wunda Chair, on a mat, standing, or on a ball. Joseph Pilates developed his techniques in the 1920's and his revolutionary methods are used for rehabilitation and regular workouts today. He believed in moving every joint through its full range of motion on a regular basis could improve stamina and reduce injuries.
Comprehensive Therapy Services, Inc. offers private and tandem Pilates classes. Whether you just want to get in shape or reduce pain and fatigue, your instructor will design a program for you. Your Pilates workout will leave you refreshed and alert with a sense of accomplishment. You will condition your body and reconnect it to your mind.
