CTS is dedicated to returning dancers to performance level through dance based strengthening programs, Pilates, Yoga, and overall injury prevention. Due to the nature of most dance forms, injuries to the spine, hips, knees, and feet are common. Injuries may be related to strains or sprains, overuse, tendonitis or tendonosis, instability and lack of core strength, extreme active and passive movements, or general muscle imbalance. We focus on improving muscle strength and coordination in multiple planes to reduce the rate of an injury occurring or returning.
To create the strength need for dancing we will work on incorporating core strength, flexibility, and stabilization simultaneously. Confidence in their strength while moving will allow dancers to focus on their art and not fear of injury. Your evaluation will be performed by a Physical Therapist trained in identifying abnormalities in movement patterns specific to ballet, tap, jazz, modern, and folk dance.
